Musician/Band
of the Month
Every month we
present a musician or a band in stage light at the moment - by reason
of a recent CD release, a concert tour, a jubilee or an award.
Hot Strings

This band from
Berne (Switzerland) exists since 1990 and all its members are professional
musicians. The band is composed of string instruments only.
Hot Strings play Swing Jazz in a chamber music style that integrates elements
of Swing, Valse Musette, Balads and Blues.
Among the great forefathers of Hot Strings are Django
Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli and the legendary Quintette du Hot Club
de France. Nevertheless the members of the band play their own style and
the major part of their repertoire is formed by their own compositions.
Up to now the band has published 4 CDs.
A specialty of Hot Strings is the compactness of their sound. Each musician
is an outstanding soloist, but stands back for the benefit of the band's
overall sound. Therefore the music of Hot Strings is always relaxed and
transparent - a very open and creative kind of Traditional Jazz.
